BUILDING AND ASSETS COMMITTEE MEETING

I hereby give you notice that the BARROWBY PARISH COUNCIL BUILDING AND ASSETS COMMITTEE MEETING will be held at the Reading Room, Barrowby on Monday 19th January 2026 at 7.30pm.   All members of the Parish Council Buildings and Assets Committee are summoned to attend for the purpose of considering and resolving upon the business to be transacted as set out hereunder.

1. WELCOME REMARKS BY THE CHAIRPERSON 
 
2. APOLOGIES:  TO RECEIVE APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE AND REASONS GIVEN.  
 
3. TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND REQUESTS FOR DISPENSATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LOCALISM ACT 2011
To receive declarations of Members’ interests in relation to agenda items. 
 
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 
To resolve to accept the minutes of the Pavilion Committee Meeting held on 24th November 2025 and to note that all actions, relating to Buildings and Assets have been completed. 
 
5. ASSISTANT CLERK’S REPORT
To receive an update on Assistant Clerk’s actions. 
 
6. REPORTS FROM SUB COMMITTEES
6.1. To receive a report from RAGS and updates on the Orchard initiative. 
6.2. To receive a report from the Flower Group. 
 
7. BUILDING AND ASSETS MATTERS ARISING
7.1. Maintenance - To review minor maintenance and repairs from November, and discuss and agree outstanding maintenance jobs to all parish buildings, sites and equipment:
7.1.1. Pavilion.
7.1.1.1. Hot water system upgrade – to provide update on progress and decide on a quote to accept.
7.1.1.2. CCTV – To agree additional CCTV cameras.
7.1.1.3. Shutters - To provide an update on recent issues.
7.1.1.4. Cleaning – To review current contractors.
7.1.1.5. Handy man – to review options to complete minor defects / small jobs.
7.1.2. Low Fields.
7.1.2.1. Gravel replenishment on low road path.
7.1.2.2. Septic tank update. 
7.1.2.3. Bins -discuss and decide on replacement bins. 
7.1.3. Reading Room – review maintenance and update on Grant application.
7.1.3.1. Decide the replacement of the spider in main play park. 
7.1.3.2. Review the report on internal quarterly inspection. 
7.1.4. Village Green.
7.1.4.1. Tree survey update – review report and any actions.  
7.1.5. Car parks 
7.1.5.1. Car park plannings update.
 
7.1.6. British Legion site.
7.1.6.1. To agree removal of items from coach house and agree other storage facilities. 
7.2. Old butchers Shop - To discuss the plans for the old butcher’s shop
7.3. Pavilion Hiring - To discuss and agree to any changes in hiring out the Pavilion and agree 2 requests received.
7.4. To discuss the prioritisation of larger improvement projects and Section 106 open spaces grant.
                
8. FINANCES
8.1. To review the finances of the Buildings and Assets. 
 
9. NEXT MEETING – To agree the date of the next meeting, and frequency of meetings
