Barrowby is situated in the county of Lincolnshire, close to the borders of Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. The Parish Council’s headquarters is The Reading Room, which is situated in the centre of the village and is also available to hire for functions. The village stands approx. 2 miles outside the town of Grantham, on the A52 road travelling in the direction of Nottingham.

Barrowby, one of the largest villages in the district of South Kesteven, has a population of around 2,000. There is a Primary school, a church, Dougie’s Coffee shop and Bistro, Post Office, butchers, Memorial Hall and at the heart of the community The White Swan pub. There are several play areas around the village where children can release some of their energy!

Several groups meet on a regular basis including a Bridge Club, Dance academy, toddler groups and there is a Pre-School Nursery every weekday at the Sports Pavilion. Sport is also popular, boasting very strong junior and senior football clubs plus a cricket team.

The Parish Council, in conjunction with the Football Foundation, built a new pavilion on Lowfield sports ground, something Barrowby had been striving towards for the last 20 years. This new village facility was opened in July 2008 and is now in use by sports teams and other private hirers.
