I sit in the latter category, and I encourage anyone wishing to be a Councillor to do the same. We cannot win every battle, but we can at least put up a decent fight. | |

Tim has been a dedicated member of the Parish Council for over five years. After retiring from a successful career as an Operations Director in the mobile telecommunications industry, he wanted to give something back to the community he’s proud to call home. A hands-on and practical person by nature, Tim is rarely without a DIY or renovation project on the go. His passion for keeping Barrowby a great place to live shines through his council work — particularly in his role maintaining the village’s active speed signs and supporting the Speed Watch initiative, helping to make the roads safer for everyone. |

Pam brings a wealth of local knowledge and experience to her roles on both the parish and district councils. As a long-standing councillor for the Belvoir ward on SKDC, she has built a strong reputation for representing her community with dedication and insight. Rooted in the village of Barrowby, Pam is a champion of local heritage and community spaces. She has been actively involved in parish matters, including the stewardship of the village’s facilities. Pam is especially proud of the community’s spirit: the way neighbours pull together, the hall-marks of rural living, and the importance of preserving both tradition and a welcoming environment for new families. Through both the parish and district councils she works to keep the village thriving, accessible and connected. |

Michael has called Barrowby home for the past 16 years. Passionate about supporting members of the community who may face challenges, he takes a particular interest in improving access to Grantham through better bus services. A proud dog owner, Michael champions responsible pet ownership and encourages everyone to share and enjoy the village’s public spaces respectfully — fostering good relations between dog walkers, footballers, and all who use Barrowby’s amenities. He also has a personal interest in the village burial ground and is committed to ensuring it remains a well-maintained and peaceful place for all. |

Paul lives on the Colleys estate, just outside the village centre, and is proud to represent the views and interests of residents in the wider parish. He has a strong interest in local issues and is committed to helping ensure the whole of Barrowby Parish remains a safe and pleasant environment for all. He takes a particular interest in the maintenance and management of the Parish Burial Ground and enjoys working with fellow councillors to ensure public money is used wisely for the benefit of the whole community. |

| Jean-Pierre lives in the village with his wife and two children, who attend the local primary school. With a strong passion for conservation, he plays an active role in RAGS (the Recreation and Green Space group) and is contributing to the development of Barrowby’s Neighbourhood Plan. Jean-Pierre is dedicated to ensuring that future planning and development reflect the village’s character, helping to preserve the charm and community spirit that make Barrowby such a special place to live. | |

Jo moved to Barrowby around 1988, wanting her children to enjoy village life as she had. The village didn’t disappoint, and over the years Jo and her family have formed lifelong friendships here. A firm believer in supporting local businesses, she tries to shop locally whenever possible. Encouraged to become a parish councillor, Jo stepped outside her comfort zone and is now embracing the role with growing confidence, especially as she approaches retirement. With a background in the NHS and the British Red Cross, she brings compassion, care, and a strong community focus to her work. Jo has a clear vision for the parish, including the creation of a community hub—somewhere for families, home workers, and older residents to meet, socialise, and connect. She would also love to see a dedicated space in the village to honour members of the Armed Forces and emergency services, accessible to all and available for quiet reflection. In addition, Jo has a personal interest in the Burial Ground and supports offering a natural, non-religious burial option for the community. |

Mark has been a familiar face in the village and the wider district for many years, bringing more than 35 years of accounting and public-sector experience to his roles. Having served as a District Councillor for the Grantham Barrowby Gate ward on South Kesteven District Council and formerly as a County Councillor for Lincolnshire County Council, Mark continues to focus his efforts locally, offering residents strong representation backed by deep institutional knowledge. He is committed to listening to the community, safeguarding the village feel of Barrowby, and ensuring that district-level decisions reflect what matters to local folk. Mark’s broad background and dedication make him a practical and approachable choice for anyone wanting to raise concerns or ideas about village life. |
