IMPORTANT NOTICE
VILLAGE POLL: WEDNESDAY 22 OCTOBER 2025
Dear Resident,
At the Parish Meeting held on Thursday, 25th September, those villagers present demanded a Village Poll on the following question:
“Should Barrowby Parish Council oppose the building development off Grange Paddock and all other major developments within Barrowby Parish?
Accordingly, South Kesteven District Council has arranged for a Parish Poll to take place on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, to allow the registered electors of Barrowby Parish to vote.
This poll has been called in accordance with Schedule 12, Part III of the Local Government Act 1972. It provides an opportunity for electors to express their opinion on this important local matter. Please note that the result of this poll is advisory. The result may be used as part of a response to a Planning Application at Kesteven District Council, it is not legally binding.

• Date of Poll: Wednesday 22nd October 2025
• Location: Reading Room, Church Street, Barrowby NG32 1BX
• Voting Time: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Voting Method: In-person only. No Postal, Proxy or Remote Voting: Voting must be done in person at the polling station
• Who Can Vote? Only registered electors of Barrowby Parish

However, the Parish Council must remain neutral in the process and is only facilitating the administration of the poll through South Kesteven District Council. While councillors may express personal views as individuals, the Parish Council will not endorse or campaign for a particular outcome and will only provide factual information regarding the poll.

1. Who can vote in this poll?
Only those who are registered electors of Barrowby Parish are eligible to vote. If you are unsure of your eligibility, you can check with South Kesteven District Council’s Electoral Services.
2. Do I need my polling card?
No, polling cards will not be issued for this Parish Poll.
Simply attend the polling station and give your name and address to the polling clerk.
3. Can I vote by post or proxy?
No, Parish Polls do not allow postal or proxy voting.
You must vote in person at Barrowby Reading Room on the day of the poll.
