Barrowby Parish Council is responsible for making decisions on local matters and ensuring that the village thrives, The Council.is composed of 11 elected members, including a Chair, Vice Chair, and 9 additional councillors, all of whom live within the parish with strong connections to it. Together, they work with the aim of serving the community and improving Barrowby for all local residents.

Supporting the Council’s activities are the Clerk, Assistant Clerk, and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO), who are paid, part-time employees. In addition, the Council receives a grant for litter collection and employs a part-time caretaker to maintain the community buildings.

The Parish Council is committed to transparency and accountability, being fully subject to regular audits and public scrutiny.

Residents are encouraged to engage with the Council and may attend the full Council meetings, where they have the opportunity to speak briefly on matters concerning the village during the Open Public Forum section at the start of the meeting.
